Does this extend to gameplay, by any chance? Were players of the first installments in the Pokemon series "entitled fanbrats" if they wished the game didn't have so many glitches? Or that the Psychic type wasn't broken to the point of making the game nearly unwinnable?

She still follows canon better than the likes of Miss Cutesy Generic Fangirl Pap, the Chatbot, Patrick the Whiny or that stuck-up Alyssia.

I'd rather read a fanon pairing with canon characterization than reading a canon pairing with fanon characterization. If she writes canon, it better be all the way, no ifs, ands, or buts. That's my rule.

No. Canon only. Canon characterization is important and Esmeralda does have that singular flaw. And no, I have not excused her plagiarism either. But at least she accepts canon couples as opposed to this tripe:
